It’s been a long time since I’ve updated everyone on my skincare routine and currently I haven’t been happier with how my skin is looking, so I thought it’s the perfect time to do it! I don’t think I’ve ever been so religious with my routine and it has paid off. What I am using is a mixture of old favourites and new products that I feel deserve to be a staple in my beauty cabinet.

Cleansing

I cleanse both morning and night, in the evening if I have been wearing makeup I will use Dermalogica’s Precleanse to remove makeup before my usual cleanser. I have been using the Results Rx ‘Rx Clean’ by Cosmedix for about a year and a half now and I love it. It’s a gentle exfoliating cleanser with l-lactic acid which gently exfoliates, cleanses and softens the skin and prepares it for your targeted skincare. This is physician only (I get mine from Exquisite Laser Clinic in Parnell) and retails for approximately $70.00.

Toner

I’m not a big believer in toner, however, once I tried this one I was hooked. I recently went into the Dermalogica counter in Smith & Caughey on Queen Street and had a Face Fit treatment (stay tuned for my full review). Here I was introduced to Dermalogica’s ‘Antioxidant Hydramist’. After telling the amazing Carloine who looked after me that I was into toners, she made me try a serum on with and without the Hydramist first and the difference was unbelievable! It’s an incredibly refreshing peptide toner that creates a hydrating, antioxidant shield over the skin that helps fight free radical damage and ultimately reduce signs of aging. I also love that it’s in a convenient spray form, RRP $76.00 for 150ml.

AM

Following the toner in the morning I follow with the Aspect Dr ‘Active C Serum’. This is again full of antioxidants and will brighten, firm and tone your skin. It’s a non-irritating and oil soluble form of Vitamin C. It’s important to apply this first as it is absorbed best into the skin without any other serum or moisturiser as a barrier. This again is physician only, I get mine from Exquisite Laser as well, RRP $130.00 for 30ml.

This next serum is one I have mentioned many times before, it truly is a wonder product. The Aspect Dr ‘Multi B Plus Serum’ fixes every skin problem and is a powerful concoction of 17 B vitamins. It regulates oil and is beautifully hydrating, powerfully healing and assists the rest of your skincare in working. RRP $130.00 for 30ml.

Moisturiser

The Clarins ‘Multi-Active Jour’ day lotion with SPF 15 is absolutely beautiful. Hydrating and light weight, it’s an antioxidant full formula that protects your skin from day-to-day pollution, keeping skin smooth and radiant. Suits all skin types, available at Clarins counters, RRP $83.00, 50ml. For my full review on the Multi-Active range click here.

PM

After cleansing and toning I apply one of my favourite products, the Aspect Dr ‘Exfol A Plus Serum’. This is a miracle worker, with AHA and Vitamin A, it assists in cell turnover, refines pores, regulates oil production, enhances skin texture helping to approve the appearance of fine lines. I absolutely swear by Vitamin A and this product is cosmetically beautiful too. I am currently switching this out to a stronger serum by Cosmedix (note: you can’t start on a strong serum without getting issues like flaking), so I will have to keep you updated on that one. RRP $130.00 for 30ml. After this I follow with the same Multi B Serum from the morning.

Moisturiser

After the Vitamin A and Vitamin B serums I love to follow with a rich moisturiser to really hydrate my skin overnight. Again another one from the Clarins Multi-Active range, the ‘Night Cream’ has encapsulated Teasel extract which delivers targeted revitalising and anti-aging action. My skin feels so hydrated and soft the next day. Available from Clarins counters nationwide, RRP $89.00 for 50ml.

You only have one skin so it is truly important to look after it. If you stick to a good solid routine like the one above (seek physicians help to determine which products will be good for you) you will see great results. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you have tried any of these yourselves and what you think! Love your skin and it will love you back! x
