If you haven’t already heard the exciting news, Mecca Maxima is coming to town to finally treat us Aucklanders! 191 Queen Street will be the new home to Mecca Maxima and it will open it’s doors for the first time on August 3rd. Filled with over 50 of the world’s best beauty brands, it will be easy to get overwhelmed, so I have put together my top picks and absolute must-haves from some of their best brands. Read on for another exciting announcement from Mecca too!
Let’s start off with something to treat our dry winter skin: Frank Body Body Cream, RRP $24.00. This rich and creamy body moisturiser is intensely hydrating, keeping the skin on your bod looking and feeling lush all year round.
On the subject of combating dry winter skin, these masks are the ultimate fix for your face. Korean skin care is some of the best in the world and this mask is a staple in my travel skincare routine, leaving skin deeply hydrated, soft, supple and plump, Mizon Bio Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule Mask, RRP $21.00 for 6 sheets.
One last skincare item that is too good not to mention, is the Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream, RRP $28.00. Saturate the delicate, dryness-prone under-eye area in weightless moisture with this deeply hydrating, skin-smoothing whipped eye cream, all with the friendly price of only $28.00.
One of my favourite foundations ever is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, RRP $62.00. I am beyond picky with foundations and I have to say this is in my Top 3 (depending on the occasion, weather and look I am going for I like to switch up my foundation). This is a complexion perfecting foundation that provides NATURAL looking medium to full coverage. It blends into skin seamlessly, is oil free and hydrating. I use the colour Warm Nude.
Too Faced is one of my favourite makeup brands, because it really is THAT good. Another must have item from them is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, RRP $35.00. The innovative curved brush separates, coats and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection!
And apologetically, a third item from Too Faced, the Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss, RRP $29.00. Part of the Sweet Peach collection, the lip glosses are a collection of oil-infused, silky smooth glosses in an assortment of playful, peach-inspired hues that are universally flattering. Enriched with coconut oils and vitamin E, the hard part will be choosing which peachy shade to go for.
I have never really gotten into setting sprays until this radiance-boosting setting spray came along, the Glamglow Glowsetter Makeup Setting Spray, RRP $50.00. This will be a key product in my makeup bag for our Bali wedding, simply mist and go to lock down makeup, replenish moisture and give complexion a lustworthy glow. Queue fresh, hydrated, glowing skin all day long.
The Urban Decay best-selling lipsticks have been released in a limited edition collection of shades with the same Pigment Infusion System for an ultra-creamy feel, next-level pigmentation and even distribution of colour. The Urban Decay Nocturnal Vice Lipstick, RRP $31.00. Enriched with a nourishing blend of aloe vera, jojoba and avocado oils, this is one comfortable formula to wear.
And finally as if Mecca Maxima itself wasn’t exciting enough, Mecca is about to launch its own new signature brand of makeup, Mecca Max! Mecca Brands Creative Director Marita Burke says the new Mecca Max brand is a game-changer in the beauty retail space, “Mecca Max has been created for the girl who is obsessed with beauty as we are. Our innovative products are smarter, work harder and will do more for your look than anything else in your beauty arsenal.” I have my eye on the Skin Halo Diamond Dust powder illuminators, RRP $24.00, as they look absolutely heavenly. Be amongst the first to shop the new release collection online from August 1st at meccabeauty.co.nz or in store at the very new store Mecca Maxima from August 3rd!
