Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to and attend one of the incredible Kate Solley Workshops, a hands-on makeup workshop created by Kate Solley and Amanda Vela.
Held in the most beautiful setting in Orakei, with a glass of bubbles on arrival, these intimate workshops are the ultimate opportunity to upskill your makeup skills, or completely start them (if you think you have none to begin with!).
Because of the limited spaces and intimacy, the workshops really are uniquely tailored to you and the other few attendees. Kate shares her coveted skills and demonstrates on a model, broken down into a step-by-step process which you then follow, with Kate and Amanda on hand to help you through, answering any questions and helping one-on-one.
The setting is perfect for yourself and a group of friends. Amanda is the owner of Celebrate Celebrations – who specialises in decadent, over the top and beautiful platters – so whilst you are playing with makeup you can also snack away and bond over the delicious treats.
The workshop myself and a few other bloggers attended was the ‘Late Night Glam’ workshop. We learnt how to create a picture-perfect, long-lasting base, with a warm smokey eye and a complimentary lip. The outcome on the model was to die for and we were all super proud of the looks we created on ourselves!
Some of the other looks that they have workshops for are Bridal, Beauty (natural, everyday makeup), Bronze Goddess Beauty and Contour and Highlight 101. I think that these would be such a cool idea for a hens, for mothers and daughters to do together or it’s just the perfect excuse for an afternoon out with the girls.
Makeup is even provided for you to create these dreamy looks, which is also quite dangerous as I know we all left with a list of new products we wanted to buy! The price is $125 per person and a list of upcoming workshops are on Kate’s website here. They also take bookings for groups. Just make sure you have something planned afterwards to show off your beautiful face!
