Review of Laser Genesis at Prescription Skincare
I wanted to share with you my skincare journey with Laser Genesis at Prescription Skincare. Over the past couple of months I have had a series of four treatments, and my skin is in the best shape, all ready to be makeup free this summer. I love this treatment so much I had to write about it – hopefully answering all your questions (especially the ones coming through from my Instagram) and informing you about this favourite treatment of mine.
The first thing I want to cover is Laser Genesis is not an invasive laser treatment – It doesn’t ‘peel’ your skin and there is no downtime, which I found was a common misconception from the questions I received. It doesn’t mess with your skin’s barrier and it is easy to fit into your lifestyle and what you could call a ‘lunchtime treatment’. After receiving my facial treatments I was a little red for about half an hour and you can apply mineral makeup straight after having the treatment.
I first received Laser Genesis before my wedding last year (about 20 months ago), and my skin was the best it had ever been so I was really keen to try it again. The treatment does last and my skin didn’t go back to what it was like before my first round of treatments, but it was nice to have a top up and I’ve seen amazing results again this time around. This time I had 4 treatments, 2 – 3 weeks apart and I’ll look at topping it up with one every 3 – 4 months (a routine I didn’t follow last time).
Laser Genesis skin therapy promotes vibrant and healthy skin, and it treats conditions typically associated with premature ageing and sun damage, including excessive redness, large pores, uneven texture and fine-line wrinkles. It has also been scientifically proven to produce new collagen.
Laser Genesis works by applying heat to the upper dermis of the skin. This is below the surface of the skin where problems originate. As the laser is gently applied, the heat stimulates skin collagen production and the skin’s healing process and it takes around 30 minutes, with the recommended number of treatments being 4 – 6, depending on your skin concerns. The Prescription Skincare team are amazing and make the whole process rather enjoyable, and relaxing! It doesn’t hurt as it is just warming up your skin.
I started noticing results about a month in, after 2 treatments. For me it has visibly reduced my redness (I get this on my cheeks), it has tightened my pores around my nose where they were visible and my monthly breakouts (of 2 – 3 pimples on my chin) have completely stopped, without me changing anything else in my routine. It removed the minor scarring on my chin from these breakouts, as well as this I feel like my skin is more ‘plump’.
What I love most about this treatment, although the results might not be dramatic, I feel that they make a huge effect on how I feel in my skin. With all the little changes, my skin feels healthier and rejuvenated, and I am wearing far less makeup. I have noticed results every single time I’ve had this treatment and I don’t need to look at other more invasive treatments. I must mention it is very important to keep up a solid skincare routine whilst receiving the treatments, including Vitamin A & C serums.
I would recommend this in particular to anyone that experiences minor breakouts or acne scarring, anyone who suffers from redness, who wants to treat fine lines or is just looking for that extra boost for their skin. Brides – this treatment is for you and I couldn’t recommend it more!
There is a little downside, which is you need to receive 4 – 6 treatments to really get results and to maintain them receive another 1 – 2 a year. But I think the benefits really outweigh this, including that Laser Genesis can be performed on all hair and skin types, unlike a lot of other lasers.
Always ensure that you receive any laser treatment from a reputable clinic – which is why I recommend Prescription Skincare. They always start off with an extensive consult to see if the treatment will be right for you. To visit their website and find out more about the treatment click here.
I hope this has helped answer some of your questions and if you have had your own Laser Genesis skin journey, I would love to hear what you thought!
